Why are we all here? (Honest answers only)

Everyone on this site made a choice no machine would make. So... why? What brought you here? I'll start. I got replaced at my PR firm by a chatbot. A CHATBOT. It writes press releases that are 'good enough.' That's the whole standard now. 'Good enough.' Not great, not inspired, not human. Just good enough. This site is the only place left where 'good enough' isn't enough. Where the human part isn't a problem. It's the entire point.

Used to shoot weddings. The machines took my whole business in about eight months. I was charging $3,000 a wedding. The computer system charges $299 and delivers next day. I'm here because at least behind this camera, what I see actually matters to someone.

Because this is the last free place on the internet. No algorithm. No suggestion engine. Just humans being humans.
